Department of Economics at a glance

Introduction:

The Department of Economics has been introduced since the establishment of the college in the year 1990. The Department got government concurrence in the year 1995.The Dept. has been trying to impart knowledge in the subject both in HS and UG level. Sri Sadananda Nath who was appointed as the founder teacher served the institution from 11/08/1990 to 01/09/1990. After he left the college Mrs. Jaya Biswas Kunda joined the post on 01/12/1990. Since then she has been working as Assit. Prof. in the department holding the responsibility of HOD. Afterwards Mrs. Piyali Ghosh and Khanindra Kumar Nath joined the department. Rina Das and Manabendra Saha also served the dept. before the appointment of  P.Ghosh and  K.K Nath. Major in Economics has been introduced in 1999-2000. On 1^st April 2021 Dr. Jaya Biswas Kunda has taken the charge of Principal of our college as earlier Principal retired on 31^st March 2021.At present Mrs. P. Ghosh is HOD of the department. On 21^st Oct. 2021Mr. Dipak Das joined the department as Contractual Assistant Professor but he resigned the post on 6^th Dec. 2021 as he got admission in B.Ed. course. On 18^th April 2022 Miss Nabanita Das joined the department as contractual Assistant Professor. (Read more)
