 Department of Bodo at a Glance:

                       The Department of Bodo of G.L. Choudhury College has been introduced in U.G. Level since 1999-2000. At the initial stage (from 1990) there was no teacher to teach the Bodo MIL in H.S. level. So students were appeared as NIP (Non Institutional Private) candidate in H.S. Final Exam. But when Mr. Jadab Basumatary was appointed on 20/03/1997 then from that time the Department has been trying to import knowledge in the subject in H.S. and U.G. Level. But Mr. Jadab Basumatary left the college on 30/09/2000. Then Maikan Basumatary was appointed on 18/07/2001 and since then she has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department holding the responsibility of HOD. Afterwards Junumoni Basumatary was appointed on 10/12/2004 as a lecturer in the 2^nd post to fulfill the requirement for opening Elective Bodo in the Department. Meanwhile after her appointment Elective Bodo was introduced in 2005-2006 and Bodo Major was also introduced in 2011-2012. But Junumoni Basumatary left the college on 14/08/2012. After Junumoni Basumatary, Anjali Narzary (11/09/2012) and Bhatima Boro (14/09/2012) both of them were appointed in the department. But Bhatima Boro also left the college on 09/09/2013 and to fulfill her post Jonil Kr. Goyary was appointed on 23/09/2013. But Jonil Kr. Goyary also left the college on 30/10/2021. After his left Samela Wary has been appointed as an Assistant. Professor (Contractual) on 1/11/2021. On 24/09/2021 Dr. Anjali Narzary appointed as an Assistant professor in sanction post.  Now the Department is fulfill with three faculty members. (Read more)
